sweet memories with sama

  • Sama holding my hand and taking me to wherever she wants to go.
  • Sipping coffee sitting with sama waiting patiently for miam's return after her walk
  • Sama asking me to scold her mom for being angry with her
  • Sama decides her water sipper is safer with masi than maa
  • Sama saying Oh Godie! when I say she has to do 4 things before we can go out and play
  • Sama kissing my tummy before she boarded the plane (off course copying her ma and pa)
There are countless other one's but these I love :)

Patriarchy disguised

I can't count on how many times have I heard a father/ brother say that I am making her do this/ or controlling her for her own good. She does not know what is right for her. I am doing this because I genuinely care for her.
If you did genuinely care you would let a 21+ decide what's right for her. She's legally adult for a reason. She can make her decisions. Your job is to guide her not to decide for her! She might make mistakes but will learn from them and come out only stronger. Isolating her like she's a criminal will not only make her lose her trust but will make the situation go out of hand and hasten any damages. What she needs people around who are friends that love when she's going through this vulnerable time not patriarchs who want to control/ manage the situation.

life in transition

Living in Worcester is not easy it is not hard either...people seem cold and indifferent at ones but when you seek out with an open mind and heart you find a community that cares and is close knit.....piles of snow taller than 2 floors might seem intimidating but the beautiful spring when floors bloom and cover the canvas of Worcester landscape, summer when vegetables grow like they are on steroids and picture perfect fall makes winter bearable. Also, what makes winter not so bad is shoveling parties when your neighbor help you shovel your car and you help clean out your neighbors walkway. It looks pretty when it snows when you have heat at home can look out of the window with a hot chocolate in your hand and friends to watch movies with.
What I will miss most of course is the people I met in Worcester. I will also miss my first apartment, my garden plot and this places quaint beauty.

people disappeared

12 people detained from a smallish town did not make a headline....did not even make news.....this town calls itself close knit....we do not even know names of the people detained in wee hours of morning from their houses two weeks after the fact....life goes on for worcester...but what must it be like for those broken families? These people are labeled fugitives when even the chief gen. of police doesn't know what fugitives really means in this context.
